Luangnamtha – Chaleunsouk-Starting point-Phouvan (Akha tribe)This trip begins from town transferring to the village of Ban Chaleunsouk, here you will pick up a local guide from the village who will lead us through the forest trails. Trek begins with an ascending hike up through the first part of the forest. Enjoy the natural surroundings and keep your ears and eyes open for birds, deer, boar, monitor lizard, monkeys… Your guide will share their knowledge of the surrounding nature and of the wild plants and what they are used for. Soon we will stop for a fabulous local picnic lunch. You will have to walk a few more hours after lunch to reach the falls where we will stop for a break and a refreshing bath/swim. We continue hiking, until reaching the farms of the locals. Take some time to observe ‘Akha’ tribe working in the farms or take a walk through the village, interacting with the locals and the children. Your guide will prepare an authentic cultural meal for your dinner. After dinner you will sleep at a Homestay.
Ban Phouvan – Ban Jaleunsouk – LuangnamthaWake up with a refreshing start to the morning; take a walk around the village to see villagers preparing to go to work in the fields. After we have eaten breakfast, we will then start with a slow walk through the upland fields, enjoying the stunning views of the fog covered mountain peaks. On this day, we will visit a local village school where you can observe village children learning. Feel free to donate school books, pens, pencils etc… to the school. Then we head onward and further into the primary forest where the villagers go to collect natural products for exchanging/trading. We spend most of this day inside the jungle enjoying the wilderness and hoping for a chance to witness some wildlife. We will pick a scenic spot for lunch and take a break. After lunch, we continue hiking out from the forest, until we reach the rice fields near the road where our transit car will be waiting. You will be then transferred back to the town in about half an hour.
