Day 1
Luang Namtha – Khmu Village – Stream Falls Campsite
After a 30 minute drive, we will start by gradually hiking along the valley where local people have established their rice field farms. You will witness how they reside in such a peaceful environment. You can speak with them about their way of life before hiking the steep ascent to the top of the rice fields. The next path is more relaxing as we will walk along the mountain ridge into deeper forest, until the descent to our wild campsite on the bank of a serene stream in deep in the jungle. You will spend the rest of your day hiking up to enjoy showering in the upper stream falls, cooking traditional food with your local guides and setting up your basic bamboo shelter or tent camp. After dinner, you will have a chance either to chat around the campfire or to go for a night walk to spot for wildlife with your guide.2
Day 2
Campsite – Dense Forest – Nalan Tai – Ban Nam Koy – Pasak – Luang Namtha
Enjoy the cool morning with a cup of coffee and fantastic breakfast prepared by your guide. Then we will start an hour long hike along the stream down to the dirt road by the Nam Ha river where your mountain bike will be on standby for our remote area exploration. After some brief instructions on mountain biking we will head on to the first village called Nalan Tai (Khmu tribe). It is a small community located on the river bank where your guide will show you around the village and explain about their way of living in the middle of the jungle. Next we will head to the village of Ban Nam Koy (Lantan tribe), a different ethnic group of Chinese descent who emigrated around 300 years ago. Here they make their own textile and dyeing their clothes with natural indigo. We then have three more hours to peddle back, along the way stopping at some interesting villages like Ban Pasak (Black Tai ethnic) and Ban Phieng Ngarm (Red Tai ethnic). Lastly we will ride a further 6km back to Luang Namtha town arriving just before dark.Maximum 9pax | Price per Person |
