Luang Namtha – Ban Prang – Hunter CampWe start the trek at the Khmu village 1hr drive away from the town. The journey begins with going up the hills and enjoying stunning viewpoints. Soon we climb up the next mountain and hike through the dense jungle. Your guide will explain about the use of the wild plants and herbs and point out any wildlife that might be around. Next, we will walk down to find the best location for our camp nearby a tranquil stream. You can relax or help your guide preparing a meal, and learn about the uses of bamboo and local food. After dinner enjoy the stars, seat by a campfire which is a perfect setting for exchanging nice conversations.
Hunter Camp – Dense Forest – Stream Campsite 2Early morning you can enjoy a cool bath in a fresh stream. Afterwards you can have a nice, relaxing coffee or tea moment altogether with served breakfast. After the meal we will start hiking in a deep forest, with the possibilities to spot wildlife. We will walk up the hill and then along the ridge-line. Today’s hiking trail weaves through even more beautiful forest that is cool and shady. We will walk until we find the best location beside another stream to set up our campsite. If you have enough energy you might want to learn from your guide more about survival methods in a jungle e.g. how to create necessary bamboo tools.
Stream Campsite 2 – Remote Village Visit – Luang NamthaAfter breakfast we will walk for a couple of hours in the forest until we reach a valley with the villagers and their farmland. Then we will trek further along the rice fields till we arrive at the river Namha, which we must cross over to get to the village. We will take a small break there and walk around the village before we start heading up the mountain until we reach the top. There you will witness an incredible view of the other side of the mountain range. From the big mountain we will descend down to Ban Chaleunsouk which is Khmu village located nearby the main road. This is where we end our wild explorer trekking and where our minivan will be waiting to take us back to town.
