Day 1

Luang Namtha – Thasae Village – Nam Ha River Bank Campsite

You will start your 3 days trekking and kayaking adventure with a half an hour transfer south, to the NamHa village where we start our trek. You will begin the trek with a leisurely walk, before heading deep into the primary forest. Your guide will point out plants used for medicine and you will do some wildlife spotting. Afterwards you can help your guide prepare the jungle picnic lunch before hiking further to the campsite, where you will set up simple beds in a bamboo hut or tent (in the wet season) for the overnight stay. For the rest of the day, you can either relax swimming in the tranquil Nam Ha river or you can assist your guide to prepare dinner and learn how to cook local style. Enjoy eating your dinner beside the campfire, and exchanging stories with the local guides. Have a peaceful night’s sleep, listening to the jungle sounds around you.

Day 2

Campsite – Valley – Ban Nalan Neua Village (Khmu Tribe) – Chaleunsouk

During the second day, you will discover the real remote territory lifestyle and you will hike along the streamside down to the main river of Nam Ha. The trail along the way is flat with some small slopes. We will pass the bamboo forest with more diverse plants along the way while spotting many hornbills and screaming squirrels. We stop at a beautiful clearing to swim and relax before walking to the Ban Nalan village, where we will have lunch with a local family. You can spend some time discovering the village accompanied by your guide and the local chief, get to know their interesting way of living before heading back to the primary forest for the last mountain trek. We will hike for a few hours, up and down the trail shaded by the jungle canopy, to the village where we will spend the night with a local family. There you will observe a very simple and basic way of living of a small village, you will learn how they live without money and you will get to know the local villagers and their traditional lifestyle during sunset.
